The Buxman family history is interesting in that they spent 130 years living in southern Russia along the Volga River before immigrating to America in 1905. They homesteaded in the Greely, Colorado area for 20 years, enduring numerous hardships, and then in 1925 came to California's central San Joaquin Valley. Locating in the Reedley area, they found success farming the land, growing fruits, making raisins and other dried fruits, milking cows and raising families!
The core values passed down all these years were to be people of faith, work hard, be honest in all aspects of life, value education for your children, and always be willing to serve and share with others.
Carl Buxman is a fourth generation Buxman. He has been a real estate broker for the past 30 years and has formed this corporation called The Buxman Group. He is being joined by his son CJ Buxman as co-owner and who is intent to carry on for the next generation. Other sales persons have joined the firm.
Carl is truly a Valley Man being born in Reedley. He has university degrees in history and international relations. He taught US History and Government to high school students for ten years. At age 40, he left his teaching position to start farming and during the next 25 years created a successful fruit growing, packing, and shipping business called Sunny Cal Farms. At its peak, the company shipped a million boxes of various fruits to all destinations coming off a thousand acres of land farmed.
Through the years he has acquired numerous social and business contacts, having served on many boards and councils. He was elected to serve on the local school board and also the Farm Service Agency, that administers the federal annual farm bill programs. He has served on church councils, been a Boy Scout Master, and presently is a board member of the Kings River Conservancy Board, protecting the natural habitat of the wonderful river so vital to the Valley. Carl's wife is Linda and together they have three children and presently six grandchildren who are truly a blessing to them.
